May 10, 2010 - It's kinda cheesy but feedback is much appreciated

Journalism requires applicants to write a personal essay. The essay is an extremely important part of the application, so treat it accordingly. The essay should be 1,000 to 1,500 words in length. In addition, applicants must submit at least two samples of their work, whether published or not.

a minimum 3.50 GPA in Journalism; and (d) submit an application essay to Professor Bass.

The deadline is Feb. 1, 2017. Applications must include the completed application, journalistic work, two essays, letters of reference, a high school transcript, and a color headshot photo. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

The selection process includes an essay and interviews with the director of studies of the School of Journalism and the dean or assistant dean of the Honors Tutorial College. Typically, between 5-8 students are admitted each year into the Honors Tutorial Program in the School of Journalism. NOTE: Deadline for applications for the Honors Tutorial College is Dec. 1
